PRESCHOOL SERVICES:

Preschool services are provided for children three to five years of age at the Learning Tree Preschool in Berryville and the Green Forest Child Care Center in Green Forest.

Children with and without disabilities are fully integrated to provide maximum learning opportunities.  The Learning Center proudly operates the Arkansas Better Chance grant for children three to five years of age.  The ABC Program provides opportunities for children to receive free childcare services based on the following factors: low income, parent did not finish high school, teen pregnancy, or substance abuse and/or neglect, family income less than 20% of poverty level, on parent without HS diploma or GED, low birth weight (less than 5 lb 9 oz), at least one parent under 18 when child was born, family history of substance abuse/addiction, income eligible for Title I programs, eligible under IDEA, child/family history of abuse or neglect, delay that is identified by a screening, and limited English proficiency. If you think your child may qualify for our program due to any of the above-mentioned reasons, please contact the Center for an evaluation.  Services for children with developmental disabilities are provided through Developmental Day Treatment Services (DDTCS).

There are more than 200 children birth to five years of age enrolled in the Carroll County Learning Center’s childcare programs.  Services provided include:

EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES:

Children birth to three years of age may receive Early Intervention services at Berryville campus of the Carroll County Learning Center.  Developmental Therapy, provided by a certified Service Coordinator, is provided to qualifying children in the home or at the Center based on the needs of the family.  Early Intervention Services assist the child alone or the family and the child together.  The focus of the Early Intervention program is to give families support and help in providing assistance to their child, enriching the child’s development, and providing a Family Service Plan, Individualized, based on the child’s developmental needs and family concerns.  Services provided in the Early Intervention program are:

ADULT DEVELOPMENT:

Day Habilitation Services are provided for any adult over the age of eighteen who has received a certificate of completion from a public school.

The Carroll County Learning Center operates our Day Habilitation program at our Berryville campus.  Adults receive evaluations to better gauge their developmental levels where an individualized treatment plan is prepared with a team of professionals.  Life skills are taught in this daily program.  Adults are engaged in a wide variety of activities throughout the day including: shopping, community outings, field trips, and exercising at the local Community Center.  The program is also active in Arkansas Special Olympics.

For those adults interested in securing employment outside the Center, we are proud to offer Supported Employment services.  The client is assisted with the employment application process, interview and then will go to the job site with them as long as assistance is needed.

TRANSPORTATION:

All persons enrolled at CCLC could be eligible for bus service to our programs at Berryville and Green Forest. Please contact our Transportation Coordinator at (870) 423-6122 for more information.

MEDICAID WAIVER:

The Medicaid Waiver is a service intended to assist the individual with community services including: daily living skills, overnight care, transportation, and assistance with daily life skills such as banking, bill payment, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.

The Carroll County Learning Center is a licensed provider of this service through the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) and will assist the family and the individual with designing an appropriate plan of care in order to meet the person’s needs.

The waiver serves individuals with a developmental disability, which includes: mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism or any other condition similar to mental retardation that requires services similar to what a person with mental retardation would require (traumatic brain injury) and the onset of the disability is prior to the person’s 22nd birthday.

HOUSING:

The Carroll County Learning Center is proud to offer persons affordable housing options.

West View Apartments, located at West View Avenue in Berryville is a twelve unit complex. Information and availability can be attained by phoning (870) 423-3000.
